Dental Insurance
Dental Insurance does not work the same way as medical insurance. While both have deductibles, dental insurance will provide you with a maximum amount of dollars per year. They share the cost of dentistry with you, you pay in and they pay in. They do not pay for your care.
- HMOs - You must go to the dentist assigned to you by your insurance. We do not accept HMOs at OFD.
- PPOs - You may go to the dentist of your choice.
- In Network proviers- They have set up a contract specifically with your insurance. This allows them to be listed as a provider on the inurance website so the insurance will send them patients, in return, the dentist has agreed to accept lower than standard fees.
- Out of Network providers- These dentists have chosen to not sign a contract with your insurance, but can still treat patients with dental inusrance using the out of network benefits listed within their plan. These dentists practice from word of mouth and reputation.
- Ocala Family Dentistry is out of network with all dental insurances. Payment is due at the time of your visit, we will file an insurance claim on your behalf and your insurance will send your reimbursement check to you. A majority of our patients have dental insurance. We go above and beyond to help you understand your dental plan and reimbursements usually arrive around 2 weeks after your visit.
